Six Companies Were Launched With The Help Of Canada's Startup Visa Program

The Canada’s Citizenship and immigration Minister, Chris Alexander, has showered the praises for the success of the startup Visa program today with the announcement of more successful applicants who have been approved for PR in recent months.

The Startup Visa program helps boost entrepreneurialism and create economic growth across the nation and also it is helping variety of industries.  Successful applicant and their companies will be based in Halifax, Toronto, Thunder Bay, Vancouver and Victoria.

Since the beginning of the program, 16 principal applicants have been approved for PR. Thus helping it launch and grow to eight companies. They are currently nearly 60 applications at various stages of the process.

Alexander has met some of the Canada’s newest entrepreneurs today at an event hosted by the Toronto Business Development Centre. The business incubator working along with the two of the startups have benefitted from the program.

The new PR supported by TBDS does include Nick Back, who is originally from UK and has started Physicool Canada with Canadian business partner Dr. Joe Chiodo and Anand Suriyanarayana Raja, Shankar Raventhiran and Jaishankar Rajgopal. These people are originally from India, and they are in involved in launching the Green Anthem foods.

The foreign Entrepreneurs can apply for PR only after they have secured a commitment from a designated organization.

 We find above 50 Canadian Venture capital funds, Angel investor groups as well as business incubators are presently designated organizations in the Start-up Visa Program.

Each successful start up visa applicant is a home run for Canada and Immigration Minister Alexander has said that he is proud to welcome today’s newest beneficiaries of the program. They have demonstrated creativity and also hard work. While the entrepreneurs get their companies off the ground in this nation, jobs as we as economic growth will follow.
