UK’s population grew by over 400,000 previous year, according to Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The ONS has roughly calculated the population in UK to be 64.1 million in June 2013, an increase of 0.63 percent when compared to previous year.
More than 50 percent of the rise was accounted by natural change whereas net immigration amounted to 46 percent of the rise.
London represented one-fourth of the UK’s population and the rise in UK population was more during 2013, when compared to other EU nations.
The statistics revealed 183,400 more immigrants coming into UK than immigrates leaving, while there were 212,100 greater numbers of births when compared to deaths.
The approximate increase in the England’s population is by 0.7%, in Scotland by 0.27%, in Northern Ireland by 0.33% and in Wales by 0.27%.
The rise in UK’s population is roughly five million since 2001 and over 10 million since 1964.
