Australian Department of Immigration and Border Control (DIBP) has forecasted that the net overseas migration to Australia will reach 246,300, a rise of 4.5 %, by the end of September 2014 and will continue to rise till 2016.
The report has taken a look over the policies that were announced recently, which included streamlined student visa processing extension to low-immigration-risk providers registered legally to provide diploma courses of advanced level.
In addition, the data pertaining to visa grants and the forecasts related to official data of Australia and world economic growth were considered both in combination assuming that there would be no changes in the future policy.
The report has revealed that the number of student visa grants saw a rapid rise given the increase in the demand for student visas. It is expected that this is the result of new post study work arrangements and the measures related to visa streamlining.
