The UK has hit the headlines yet another time for all good reasons. According to the figures highlighted by Office for National Statistics (ONS) the number of immigrants arrived to the UK every year has increased the UK population three times over the past 30 years.
Previously, the number of immigrants in UK was 173,000, which is increased to 526,000 in 2013 and, the immigration has strike the peak of 596,000 in 2006.
As per the ONS report, the immigration impact on UK population has been positive. And recently, with the rise in the UK economy, the net immigration has again started increasing. The main reason for UK immigration is employment.
The Office for National Statistics most recent statistics disclosed 260,000 migrants net flow to the UK in the year to June, which is considerably 16,000 higher when compare to previous years.
The non-EU citizen’s populace in the UK has increased to 168,000 by the end of June 2014. Education and employment are the most common reasons for UK immigration.
On the whole the UK population has increased by approximately eight million or 14%, since 1980 and stood at over 64 million by 2013. In the previous five years alone, the net immigration has added over one million of population to the UK.
An expected 734,000 Indians were residing in the UK permanently by 2013, a figure which increased by 232,000 since 2004.
