Japan Introduces Multiple Entry Short Term Stay Visa To Indians

Japan has decided to simplify its present visa rules for Indian citizens from January 1^st, 2018. It is also in agreement to issue multiple- entry-visas for a stay of short-term. The Embassy of Japan has stated that this measure is aimed to benefit businessmen, repeat visitors and tourists. The new visa regime is directed to bring a simplified visa application and also expand the scope of eligible applicants.

Under this process, there is an exemption on obtaining the certificate of employment and an explanation letter.

The Japanese Foreign Ministry Release, issued by the Japanese Embassy said that the applicants can submit their application for multiple-entry-visa through three documents only. They are the passport visa application form, and papers of proof regarding the financial capacity for tourism. Besides, proof of the affiliation of applicants to professional bodies for business professionals is also required.

The changes brought to visa rules aim to broaden the range of competent applicants for securing the Japanese visa. Multiple entry visas, of five-year validity, will allow staying for 90 days to the applicants. The condition is they must have traveled to Japan two (or for more) times, during the previous year. Then the applicants found eligible only need to give their visa application form and passports.

The relaxed rules were planned with the aim of developing the people-oriented exchanges between India and Japan. These will make the Japanese travel convenient for Indian businessmen, repeat visitors and tourists.

In February 2017, Japan had introduced a simplified visa application process for such visa. Its aim here was to benefit the Indian students.
