South Australia Immigration: Gives Approval To 498 Occupations For 2019-20

The program started on 3 July 2019 with a total of 275 professions open for candidates living offshore or in South Australia.

An additional 223 professions are open on the Supplementary Skilled List (S.S.L.). SSL professions are open to applicants in four categories who have shown a strong dedication to South Australia or are high caliber candidates, the South Australia Immigration told.

The 4 categories specified above include:

• South Australia Foreign graduates
• Skilled candidates who have worked in the South Australia State for the previous 12 months
• Candidates who have an immediate family member permanently living in South Australia for a tenure of 24 months or higher
• A candidate with more points.

If an appellant has 80 points (along with state nomination points) on the Home Affairs Department points test, he or she can access further occupations.

As per the department, this category allows the State to remain to attract high caliber appellants that is who have excellent levels of English, significant work experience, and higher levels of qualification.

Required Minimum Points to Receive A Nomination

The points demand for the I.C.T. professions (with an A.C.S. skills evaluation) has been raised. The appellants for I.C.T. occupations are expected to have at least 75 points on the Home Affair's Department points test.

Appellants in the South Australia Foreign graduates or the applicants presently working in South Australia categories are only expected to have 65 points for I.C.T. professions, the department told.

As per the immigration experts, there are not multiple important changes in the occupation list from the previous year; however, the conditions have been created to move more migrants to go to the Australian regional areas.

New Requirement Added

Candidates in some professions like hairdresser, finance manager, or accountants could appeal for S.A. nominations after working for tenure of 12 months in the State. Now, a new demand has been added. These graduates will need to work in the Australian regional areas for a minimum of six months to be qualified for the state nominations. Applications for state nomination began on 3 July 2019.
