In an exclusive interview with the media, Nick Crouch, director for UK visas and immigration said that since its launch in 2013, SPV(super priority Visa ) over 1300 visas has been granted to Indians. The SPV has become a major hit among the business community of India.
As per the latest number it also shows that the initial six months, this year, the numbers issued were up by 68% during the same period the year before.
Nick Crouch added Chennai has beaten Delhi and Mumbai when it comes to successfully applying for SPV.
In the world, India is the first nation, where Britain has launched the SPVs in 2013. It was announced by British Prime Minister Davis Cameron during his last visit to India, under which visas would be available within 24 hours.
It was first introduced in Delhi and then Mumbai later Chennai was rolled out. Now after India, it has been extended to Brazil, China, Turkey, South Africa and UAE.
Over the past five years on an average, we find 70,000 business visas have been issued each year to Indians.
The officials state that the issue rate has been high with almost all Indians who have applied for UK business visa have got one.
In 2012 for instance about 67,400 business visas were issued when 69,600 applications received –the approval rate has been 97%.
India remains UK biggest visa operation in the world; it processes about 400,000 visa applications each year.
The Home Office states that vast majority of the application include approval of 86% of the visit visas, 97% of UK business visit visas and UKBA process 95% of the application within a fortnight.

UK home office has said that service would be available to those who were applying for six months or two-year multiple entry visitor visas and had travelled without difficulty in last five years to one of the following nations such as UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or Schengen nation.
Those who are employees of companies and are members of Business Express program and travelling as an official business visitor they should be able to apply.
