BRICS Business Council's Proposes Business Travel Between BRICS Nations To Be Simplified

The 5 nations Brazil, Russia ,India, China and South Africa (BRICS) had a meeting in Russian city of Ufa on Thursday agreed to consider a simplified Visa regime and easier customs procedures to push intra group trade.

Rybakov said, BRICS is not an organization, it is collection of nations that are  united by national interests.

Indian Prime Minister Modi called on  BRICS partners to reduce the  present custom barriers inorder to facilitate trade.

Travelling between BRICS nations had to become easier for the executives as well as ordinary citizens of BRICS member states, said Namia Bohler Muller, Deputy Director of HSRC.

She added, Personally “ I have noticed that Chinese visa application process is more complicated and do not know if that has to do with visa requirements but we certainly want more member of other nations as well as BRICS  nations to travel to SA.

The Declaration from UFA meeting noted that  BRICS Business Council’s request that the business travel between BRICS nations be simplified . The declarations said all the relevant authorities would discuss how this could be done in future.

Head of the BRICS Research Centre Jaya Josie has said that, BRICS think-tank and BRICS Business council could consider options such as BRICS card which would permit a special regime for business people and researchers from BRICS nations to travel around in each other with ease.

The BRICS nations have combined population of almost 3 billion people and a total GDP of around $16 trillion.

The BRICS Business Council is composed of 25 prominent entrepreneurs from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, representing 

 BRICS council consist of 25 prominent entrepreneurs belonging to  nations such as Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa . They represent varied industries and sectors in the grouping.
