Canada continued its lowest unemployment rate since records started in 1976 for the 2nd following month in Dec. The Statistics Canada, Labour Force Survey, recorded rate of unemployment of 5.6%, the equivalent level as Nov.
Through the year 2018, Canada added 163,000 jobs, with the addition completely driven by full-time professions.

With workers who are aged 25 to 54, women inspired the 2018 progress by adding 128,000 jobs, an improvement of 2.2%. Men meantime added 61,000 jobs in the corresponding period.
For those who are aged 55 and above, the 2018 gain of 50,000 jobs were focused on men, who joined 43,000.
Young people who are aged 15 to 24 recognized employment decline by 73,000 throughout the year.
Newfoundland & Labrador Province was a notable mover, adding 2,700 positions in Dec, with the rate of unemployment dropping to 11.7%.
Ontario province added 17,600 positions in Dec, as Canada’s biggest province saw its rate of unemployment drop to 5.4%, lower than the Canadian national average.
In Quebec province, 3,700 positions were added, as the province of French-speaking also reported below the Canadian national average rate of unemployment to 5.5%.
British Columbia province continues to create the provinces on unemployment, adding 4,400 positions in Dec while maintaining the rate of unemployment to 4.4%.
Meanwhile, employment dropped in the provinces of Alberta, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick.
