5.5 million Tourists stayed overnight in the first half-year of 2012- reports Vienna Tourist Board. This is a rise of 8.4% on the previous year.
This growth in tourism for Vienna was reported mainly due to tourists from Russia, Japan, India, Switzerland and the USA. Rise was reported for Germany, Austria, UK, France, Italy and Sain.
Net room revenues of the hospitality sector of Vienna for the period from January to May 2012 is at 191.5 million Euro, a new record level.
This clean and beautiful baroque city has many must visit sites. Hofburg palace, St stephens Catherdral, the opera and the Ringstrauss are a few among them. Below is a list of few places that shouldn’t be missed when you are in Vienna.
Schonbrunn Palace:
Situated outside the city, the palace has 1400 rooms, gardens, palm house and a zoo named as Tiergarten.
