Collaboration between Canada and Australia resulted in having admission to eMedical services for more than 100 countries, Australia’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s (DIAC) is the new electronic health processing scheme which allows for cost-effective visa processing.
eMedical is a new updated and enhanced version of the earlier ‘eHealth’ online scheme which is to record the results of health examination of the visa applicants who finish their examinations for both Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).
“Increased use of eMedical will result in substantial benefits to DIAC and our clients, including improved client service, enhanced integrity and significant financial savings,” a DIAC spokesman said.
DIAC is working with CIC since early 2011 to development this ground-breaking proposal and reached the 100 nation milestone mid-year.
The project is showing that what can be achieved practically when Five Country Conference (5CC), Australia, United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Canada work collectively.
“Ultimately, we hope other 5CC member countries will use eMedical to streamline processes globally for clients and immigration panel physicians,” the spokesman said.
In 2012 the eMedical system for Australia immigration was released for the health examinations and about 120,000 health cases of Australia are processed using the new system.
“About 78 per cent of Australian eMedical cases are now being auto-cleared, with the results available in minutes and no manual intervention needed, allowing visa processing to continue immediately,” the spokesman said.
