Nova Scotia Reveals Complete Details Of Express Entry Immigration Stream

02 Jan 2015

Immigration News

Nova Scotia--a province in Canada, has announced the complete details of its Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry immigration stream, a replacement for the earlier Regional Labor Market Demand stream. The newly opened immigration scheme is in instant effect and is within the range of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)—one of the main Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), which enables the provinces of Canada to pick prospective immigrants, depending on the native labor market needs.

Under the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) immigration program, Nova Scotia government nominates Canadian government applicants who could meet provincial’s economic and labor market needs as well as those who aim to set up themselves in Nova Scotia. Under this program, after the Canadian government consent, a nominee, together with his or her partner or spouse or common-law partner and dependent children below 19 years of age, who are approved can become Canada permanent residents.

The Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry stream is associated with Canada Citizenship and Immigration (CIC) Express Entry system, which came into action at 12 p.m. Eastern Time on 1 Jan  2015.

Recently the Nova Scotia stream has announced to raise the immigration cap to 1,050 by adding up an extra 350 new provincial nominations, representing a rise over 50% in the entire Nova Scotia’s quota of provincial nominations.

However, prospective individuals should be extremely skilled, and must hold post-secondary education and necessary qualifications that would assist them to successfully reside in Nova Scotia. Individuals should also show their intention to stay in the province.

Candidates are assessed and selected based on the points they secure under various factors such as language ability, education, age, work experience, adaptability and arranged job offer for Candidate from Nova Scotia- employer.

Prospective candidates should also hold a minimum of one year full time experience during the past five years in any of the 29 skilled eligible occupations that are in demand.

Under the stream there are two categories, the foremost category needs the candidates to hold an arranged employment offer with a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from an employer in Nova Scotia. In the second category the applicants must hold a minimum of one year constant full-time or an equivalent paid part-time work experience in the past five years in any of the specified occupations.

There exits two paths to apply for Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry stream, i.e. either individuals can apply directly to NSOI (Nova Scotia Office of Immigration) or they have been picked from the Express Entry pool by the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration. In any case, the main applicant needs to submit a complete application to NSOI.
