Australian Medical Council Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) Examination assesses your knowledge.
The AMC Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) MCQ Examination is a computer-administered fully integrated multi-choice question examination delivered in one 3.5 hour session in examination centres worldwide.
The examination consists of 150 A-type MCQs (one correct response from five options)—120 scored items and 30 (non-scored) pilot items. You are expected to complete all 150 items and must complete the 120 scored items. Failure to complete all 120 scored items in the examination may lead to insufficient information for a reliable determination of your ability and therefore a result on the AMC adaptive scale. The examination result is recorded as ‘Fail—Insufficient data to obtain result’.
Assessment process is done to verify the educational and practice standards of the applicant in comparison to Australian Medical Standards.
Step 1: Applicant submits the form and documents to AMC
Step 2: Application assessed through AMC Primary Source Verification (incomplete application, incomplete documentation makes application invalid for further process)
Step 3: Referral sent to Specialist College, applicant advised of referral.
Step 4: AMC receives report from specialist medical college advising of applicant’s level of comparability. Report is forwarded to applicant
Step 5: AMC receives and notifies the applicant & specialist medical college of conforming to comply with required standards
Step 6: AMC receives report from specialist medical college on the applicant’s eligibility & informs the same to applicant
The PESCI is an assessment of your clinical experience, knowledge, skills and attributes by an assessment body authorised by the Medical Board of Australia (MBA). The assessment process consists of a structured interview, referee checks and a fee.
