134th Express Entry Draw: Issued 3,400 Invitations To Apply For Canada PR

09 Jan 2020

134th Express Entry Draw

Canadian first Federal Express Entry draw of 2020 has announced 3,400 invitations to apply for Canada PR. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking (C.R.S) System score required to obtain an invitation in the draw that was held on 8 January was 473 points.

The Federal Express Entry system is the principal source of skilled immigrant workers. It was launched in the year 2015 to manage the pool of aspirants for 3 Canadian federal highly skilled immigration programs

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class

Qualified applicants for each program are assigned with a score beneath Express Entry’s Comprehensive Ranking (CRS) System, which grants points for human capital factors such as age, educational level, skilled work experience and ability in the English language or French language.

While the employment offer is not needed to be eligible below the Federal Express Entry system, but the CRS does grant additional points to applicants who have the employment offer.

The Canadian Government has a processing standard of 6 months for PR applications that are filed by the Federal Express Entry system.

Canadian Immigration Targets and Recent Express Entry Draw Details

Canada has greater admissions targets for the years 2020 and 2021 for the different programs which are managed by the Federal Express Entry system. The target for the latest PR admissions by the three federal highly skilled immigration programs is slated to increase to 85,800 this year and 88,800 in the year 2021.

The target for the Canadian Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), a part of which is also controlled by the Federal Express Entry system, is estimated to grow to 67,800 in the year 2020 and 71,300 in the year 2021.

9 provinces and 2 territories in Canada have their “enhanced” PNP streams that are associated with the Federal Express Entry system. Many of these streams have lesser or no C.R.S score demand.

Today’s draw was somewhat bigger than the earlier invitation round that was held on December 19, which announced 3,200 ITAs. The minimum required CRS score was also higher related to the December 19 draw, which had a minimum CRS score of 469 points.

Refugees, Immigration, and Citizenship Canada (I.R.C.C) implemented a tie-break time & date of 27 Dec 2019, at 13:35:09 UTC in this latest draw. This implies that all applicants with a C.R.S score of 473 who provided their profile before this specific date & time obtained an ITA.
