138th Express Entry Draw: Issued 3,900 Invitations To Apply For Canada PR

Canada conducted the latest invitation round by the Express Entry system on 4 March 2020. A sum of 3,900 applicants was issued invitations to apply in this round, with a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score demand of 471 points.

The cut-off CRS score of 471 is an addition of one point over the prior draw that held on 19 February 2020 which had a minimum CRS score of 470. Two weeks ago, 4,500 Express Entry applicants obtained ITAs in the biggest draw ever held by the Canadian Government.

Canadian Express Entry system controls the profiles of applicants for three important economic immigration classes - the Federal Skilled Trades Class; the Federal Skilled Worker Class; and the Canadian Experience Class.

Applicants are ranked based on their score secured under Express Entry’s CRS system that weighs factors such as the age of the applicant, educational level, skilled and relevant work experience and language proficiency in one the official languages (English or French).

A selected number of candidates will receive an ITA for Canadian PR through periodic draws from the pool and Refugees, Immigration, and Citizenship Canada (I.R.C.C) that aims to process applications for Canada PR in 6 months.

To reach the present year's 85,800 ITA target for new PR admissions, it seems the government began issuing larger numbers of ITAs in every draw.

This draw number is 5th in 2020 and brings the cumulative number of ITAs declared in 2020 to 18,700. The tie break involved in the 4 March draw was 24 February 2020 at 06:02:57 UTC.

Several Express Entry connected provincial nominee programs have been busy in the latest weeks. Express Entry applicants who receive a provincial nomination from the Canadian province are awarded a supplementary 600 CRS points toward their Comprehensive CRS score and it helps to move to the front line for an ITA.

Over the preceding two weeks, Express Entry connected provincial nominee categories in Ontario, Alberta, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia have issued invitations to Express Entry applicants to apply for a provincial nomination.
