Canada has conducted another Express Entry round of invitations, inviting applicants who had provincial nominations. Refugees, Immigration and Citizenship (IRCC) Canada issued 118 invitations to apply to Express Entry applicants on 15 April 2020. Invited applicants needed to have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of 808 points score.
All of these applicants had previously obtained a provincial nomination and were given an additional 600 CRS points toward their cumulative CRS score. It indicates without the provincial nomination the applicant would have had a CRS score of 208 points.
To be fair, if you were an Express Entry applicant in the pool and received a minimum of 208 points CRS score in your human capital characteristics, along with provincial nomination, you would have got an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR in this draw.
The top-scoring applicants are invited by regular Express Entry draws. Since the government of Canada declared special coronavirus rules limiting travel on 18 March 2020, Canada has conducted Express Entry draws targetting candidates with provincial nominees and candidates in the Canadian Experience Class. The last two Express Entry draws both happened on 9 April 2020, just 6 days ago.
Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) enable provinces of Canada to choose individuals who promote their regional labor market and population goals. Most provinces and territories in Canada have PNPs that are associated with Express Entry, excluding Quebec and Nunavut.
Since the past all-program draw conducted on 4 March 2020, plenty of Canadian Express Entry associated provincial nomination streams have announced invitations that include streams in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
Canadian several PNP streams have previously held higher than 30 draws since the commencement of 2020.
The 15 April 2020 Express Entry draw leads the entire number of ITAs announced this year to 26,618, which is greater than there were on the corresponding date in the previous year and the year before.
IRCC employed its tie-break rule in this specific draw. This means that all contestants with a CRS of 808 points score and above who presented their profile prior to 18 March 2020 at 10:30:55 UTC obtained an ITA in this round of invitation.
