The Canadian Government has declared 3,311 Invitations to Apply to Express Entry applicants by a program-specific draw that held on 1 May 2020.
The Invitations to Apply, or I.T.As, were announced to Express Entry applicants below the Canadian Experience Class (C.E.C). The minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System (C.R.S) score was 452 points.
This is the lowest C.R.S demand so far in 2020, 3 points less than the 16 April CEC draw that had a minimum cut off C.R.S of 455 points.
Another 589 ITAs were announced to Express Entry applicants nominated by the Provincial Nomination Program (P.N.P) earlier this week. The minimum required C.R.S score for these applicants was 692 points.
Express Entry applicants with a nomination from the province get a supplementary 600 points to their C.R.S score, which describes the higher cut-off score. For instance, a contestant who accesses the Express Entry pool with a C.R.S score of 300 and then receives a nomination from a province of Canada would see their C.R.S score rise to 900 points.
Refugees, Immigration, and Citizenship Canada (I.R.C.C) used its tie-break rule in this 146th Express Entry draw and the time stamp used was 10 October 2019 at 19:15:28 UTC. This indicates that all CEC applicants with a CRS score over 452 as well as those applicants with a CRS score equal 452 who submitted their profile prior to this timestamp, obtained an ITA in this round of invitation. Today’s draw takes the entire ITAs announced in 2020 to 34,300.
Program-specific rounds of invitation are no longer the exemption to the standard for Express Entry draws. Since travel limitations were started on 18 March 2020 IRCC has conducted 8 program-specific draws concentrating especially on applicants in the PNP and Canadian Experience Class.
Both classes of candidates are most likely to be now in Canada than those coming by other Express entry classes, which indicate they will not be influenced by the present travel limitations.
Prior to the pandemic, the huge majority of draws included applicants from all programs administered below the Express Entry system.
The latest all-program draw was conducted on 4 March 2020. That draw, saw 3,900 applicants obtain invitations where the minimum CRS score was 471 points.
