Canada has issued 529 invitations to Express Entry applicants to apply for Canada PR on 13 May 2020. Canada has now issued invitations to 34,829 immigration applicants so far in 2020.

Only applicants who had got a nomination from a PNP were invited in the recent draw that is why the cut off Comprehensive Ranking System (C.R.S) was 718 points.

The score appears high because with the provincial nomination these applicants got an additional 600 C.R.S points. In other terms, a contestant with a C.R.S of 718 who received an Invitation this round would have had a C.R.S of only 118 without the provincial nomination.

This PNP-specific draw seems to follow a model from Immigration Refugees and Citizenship (I.R.C.C) Canada, where Express Entry draws, will fluctuate between targeting applicants with provincial nominations, and applicants in the Canadian Experience Class (C.E.C).

The former Express Entry draw nominated only CEC applicants who had a C.R.S cut off of 452 points, which is the lowest score so far in 2020.

A tie-break rule was implemented in this Express Entry Specific draw and the time stamp used was 19 March 2020 at 12:53:21 UTC. This denotes that all applicants with a C.R.S score exceeding 718 points also those applicants with a C.R.S score of 718 who presented their profile before this timestamp, obtained an ITA in this round of invitation.
