3 Australian Vocational Colleges Shut Down

Australia recently announced its decision to close 2 vocational colleges in Victoria - The Ashmark Group Pty Ltd and G Plus G Global Trading Pty Ltd, both in Melbourne & one in New South Wales, Ivy Group.

Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor informed about the same to Indian Government & also told that 500 Indian students will be affected with this closure.

Indian government has brought the matter to the notice of Australian Government through the High Commission of India in Australia.

Australian government has come forward to help the Indian students and assured that affected students would be able to avail the government's Tuition Protection Scheme (TPS). The scheme places affected students in alternate courses or refunds them any unspent pre-paid tuition fees.

Indian Government announced 1,00,270 and 36,326 Indian students are studying in USA and Australia respectively.
