Chris Alexander, Citizenship and Immigration Minister of Canada, announced that the dynamic employment model for Canada’s economic immigration will be formally named as “Express entry”. This recruitment model will be launched in January 2015, and this is important step in transforming the Canada’s immigration program to flexible, fast, more focused and satisfying country’s labor and economic needs.
This recruitment scheme “Express Entry”, will allow for better responsiveness and greater flexibility to meet the regional workforce shortages, and will fill vacant jobs as there is no sufficient workforce from Canada. “Express Entry” who will get nomination under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) or official job offer will be immediately invited to apply for PR or Permanent Residence, which is important difference between the Express Entry program and the Temporary Worker Program, which is aimed at filling the temporary skill and labor shortages.
“Express Entry”, previously known as “Expression of Interest”, would be made available to skilled immigrants and empower government to choose candidates who are more likely to achieve success in Canada, instead of those first in line. This new model will also eliminate backlogs and allow CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) to improve huge application management with the yearly immigration plans.
Eligible candidates can expect reduction in processing time of 6 months or less, when asked to come to Canada under the 4 important economic programs, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class and part of the PNP program.
With Express Entry in to effect, employers will have a significant role to play in providing guidance to the Canadian Government and selecting the economic immigrants. Immigration Minister also announced that during the course of 2014 spring, Citizenship and Immigration Minister will work with territorial and provincial governments to provide series of Canada information sessions to employers about the exciting new recruitment model.
