Alberta PNP: Issues 401 Invitations To Skilled Workers With CRS Score 300

11 Nov 2019

AINP

In the past two draws that conducted in the month of October 2019, Alberta Immigrant Nominee (AINP) Program invited 401 Express Entry applicants to apply for a nomination from the province. At the beginning of these draws that were held on 24 October, 2019 a sum of 372 applicants with Comprehensive Ranking System (C.R.S) score as less as 300 were received an invitation. At the corresponding time, the 30 October 2019 draw invited 29 Express Entry applicants with a CRS score of 350 or higher.

Alberta PNP's Express Entry

The A.I.N.P Express Entry stream enables Alberta to choose the applicants with the skills that meet the requirements of the Alberta province’s labor market from the pool of federal Express Entry. The chosen candidates are nominated by the province of Alberta for Canada PR. The nominated applicants also obtain an additional 600 C.R.S score points. With these extra points, they have assured with an invitation to apply for Canada PR in the succeeding federal Express Entry draw.

Eligibility Criteria for Alberta Express Entry

To be qualified for selection by the stream Alberta Express Entry, the appellant must have a strong profile in the Express Entry. Though a job offer is not compulsory to get an invitation, preference will be given to those applicants who have any one of the below criteria:

  • An employment offer from an Albertan employer or minimum work experience in the Alberta province
  • Graduation from the listed post-secondary institutes of Alberta
  • A relative such as a child or a parent or sibling residing in Alberta

Alberta Express Entry Minimum Required CRS Score

The minimum required CRS score for the applicants to be invited in the 24 October Alberta Express Entry draw was 300 which is very low, while in the draw held on 30 October, the minimum required CRS score was 350. Related to the minimum required CRS score in the general federal Express Entry draws, these scores are very low.

The highest cut-off CRS score for a Canadian Express Entry draw held in 2019 was 475. However, once the applicants invited by the A.I.N.P will receive a provincial nomination, a supplementary 600 CRS points are attached to their entire CRS score. It indicates their score would be much higher than the minimum CRS score to be invited in an Express Entry draw and they would obtain an invitation to apply for Canada PR in the following Express Entry draw.
