Canadian government is planning to consider the introduction of appeals process for Canada visa. A New Democrat MP Olivia Chow introduced the bill to allow rejected Canadian visa applications to be appealed – similar to the system already used for UK visa and Australia visa applications.
As of now, appeals by rejected applicants cannot be made under the Canada’s immigration system rather they need to file an entirely new application.
Statistics reveal that 20 per cent of the one million visitors’ visa applications made with Canada immigration are rejected. Refusals usually relate to concerns over fraud and misrepresentation.
“We hope to bring fairness and transparency to the system,” Chow said of the proposed immigration reforms.
