Australia Confirms Changes In Second Working Holiday Visa

In Australia, changes to working holiday visa have been introduced, which would particularly affect all those individuals who are applying for the second visa to  extend their stay in the nation.

For young people who are aged between 18 to 30 years , the program of  working holiday maker visa, has been granted for extended holiday in Kangaroo nation and they can earn money through work which are short term in nature, and it’s popular. 

At the same time, we find there has been increasing trend of a  minority who abuse the system, especially few visa holders do claim the work that did not exist and few employers are not paying the lawful wages.

There are about two types of working holiday visas, the subclass 462, holiday visa and subclass 417 visa working holiday visa. Both the visas, do allow the holder to stay as well as work in Australia for a period up to twelve months.

Generally, the individuals get working holiday maker visa once, but if the holder does undertake 88 days of specified work in the regional Australia, then they are eligible for second visa.

The DIBP (Department of immigration and Border protection) spokesperson said, that initiative of second working holiday visa  helps in encouraging the working holiday visa holders to move from big  cities and spend time working in varied other parts of Australia. It does help businesses who contribute significantly to the Australian economy in order to have  workers, whom they require to run their organizations, particularly during the seasonal peaks.

The applicants can upload the electronic copies of pay slips as  attachment  on online for second working holiday visa  or the applicant can  submit the paper application.

For Second holiday visa, the spokesman added, that voluntary work does not take into count 88 days.

The DIBP spokesman said that, we understand few groups such as willing workers  who work for organic farms do promote themselves to  holders of working holiday visa.  Similarly if you would like to spend some time helping out in those activities which count to be specified work, then they would not be able to count it toward their 88 specified work, it if began after 31st August.

If the individual has started the volunteer work before 31St August, then they will be able to count all working days on the placement, even if the individual has finished up after 31St August.

If the individual has finished to volunteer work before 31st August, which counts as specified work, then they can include these days towards their 88 days.
