Australia Expects A Need Of 2.8 Million Highly Skilled Workers By 2015

Here’s some good news for skilled immigrants, that Australia expects a need of 2.8 million highly skilled employees by 2015. The country is facing skill shortages and thus, a number of industries are in need of skilled immigrants to migrate to Australia in order to plug the available vacancies.

Recently, Australia has observed a boom in need for skilled professions in certain fields. The major sectors such as healthcare, construction, engineering and mining are looking for skilled employees. It has stated that presently about 60% of migrant business goes to New Zealand and Australia and the number is likely to increase during the rest of 2014

In reaction, the Australian government urged to raise its immigrant’s acceptance of 90,000 in 2013/14 to 220,000 for 2014-2015 to plug the rising skill scarcities in the country. Professionals in the fields of mining, infrastructure, healthcare and engineering are considered as desirable assets for the country’s labor force.

One of the leading firms performed a survey and stated that 68% of the respondents in the construction field stated complexity in recruiting skilled labor during the period of six months to September 2013. A spokesperson confirmed that improving present labor force remains a priority; a better skilled migration program is required to handle the present situation as well as to help in easing the path to future growth.
