In a bid to make it easier for Indian tourists and business individuals to apply for Australia visa online, the government of Australia has introduced a pilot program on 12 January 2015.
The newly introduced pilot program that has started on trail grounds covers the online lodging of subclass 600 visas for Indian visitors and business individuals.
At the introduction of program, the minster for Australia Trade and Investment, Andrew Robb, said that India is one amongst the fastest emerging outbound travel market.
Robb said that under the Australian government country’s tourism plan, Tourism 2020, India has the probable to contribute around $1.9 billion to $2.3 billion every year to Australian tourism sector by 2020. Thus, during the initial half of 2015, the government of Australia arise a tryout of online visa applications to take advantage of swiftly emerging visitor market and generate jobs.
Andrew Robb is chief Australia's major ever trade mission to India, with 450 delegates, for country’s Business Week in India, since January 9-16.
The trade mission as well as visa trial are on track on the board under the Australia-India MoU (Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism), which was signed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's, during his visit to Australia in the previous year, Robb said.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism, India and Australia works mutually to encourage collaboration between tourism stakeholders in both the nations.
