The Department of Immigration and Border Control of Australia has launched a discussion paper on its website to help set the levels of 2015/2016 migration program.
With an idea to find out the opinions of people from all over the world concerned with immigration levels and visa programs, the country has taken this initiative.
The discussion paper includes a survey in which participants will be able to share their opinions with the DIBP related to size and composition of the permanent migration program. The discussion paper helps to find out all the economic and social factors that are taken into consideration in setting the migration program.
A spokesman of DIBP said that the survey will help to explore the views on the size and composition of the migration program and people can participate in the survey till 05 December 2014.
With vibrant and growing economy, Australia needs skills and the employment is predicted to rise in major sectors, the paper revealed. It also said that the department has realized the importance of enticing and retaining foreign skilled migrants and the need for simpler and removing restrictions for skilled migration visa program to shape the country.
The paper also stated that in planning the size and composition of the 2015/2016 Migration Program, the department should consider the factors and opinions of the public to meet the Australia’s long terms needs and goals.
