Australia Needs 110,000 Nurses In Coming Years

Advisory authority to the Australian government, Health Workforce Australia has predicted a shortage of more than 110,000 Nurses across Australia in the next 12 years.

NSW Health has advertised for more than 800 nursing and midwifery vacancies as it goes through the worst staffing crisis. Nurses who can speak English and have training and experience in intensive care, emergency, midwifery, obstetrics, operating suite and mental health are in particularly high demand. They are in demand to fill the skills gap which is experienced by both city hospitals and rural community-care centers.
