Australian Businesses Urge To Allow Skilled Immigrants

Some of the renowned businessmen in Australia have warned that the nation must allow entry of skilled immigrants or get ready for inflation and deterioration.

The Prime Minister of Australia Julia Gillard is not interested in ‘big Australia’. And as Gillard’s plans to curb the present levels of Australian immigration seem to be coming close, the businesses of Australia are already feeling the heat of the effects of such policies on the growth and development of Australia in the coming times.

A leading businessman of Australia and founder of Aristocrat Leisure Group, Len Ainsworth, states that the economic future of the nation is surely going to be in big trouble if the changes proposed by Australian PM in the Australian immigration rules are introduced.

Ainsworth suggested a possible answer to the issue of Australian immigration; it is quality on which Australian immigration should focus and not quantity. 

As such, Australian population in the coming years will compromise of baby boomers nearing the retiring age.  If the issue is not handled properly, Australia is expected to witness a sharp fall in the number of working-age people. Hence, Australia needs to manage this problem in an effective manner, said demographer at KPMG, Bernard Salt.

Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forest, chief of Fortescue Metals said that stopping the growth of Australia is no solution for the nation because by doing so, you are only stopping every Australian’s growth.

And Bernie Brooks, chief executive of Myer also loves to idea of increase in Australian population, more so in the regional areas.

Meanwhile, there is also an imminent need for better planning of training and infrastructure programs of the country in order to help the economic development of Australia, the business community of Australia asserts.
