The government is asking opinion on the composition, rate, and distribution of immigration program of Australia for the 2019/20 fiscal year.

The government of Australia is seeking opinion and views on 2019/20 migration program of Australia by its annual consultation process with the territories, state, key stakeholders, business sector, and the public.

At present, Australia has had a fixed ceiling of allowing 190,000 migrants each fiscal year since 2012/13, with the responsibility that no less than 2/3rd of the entire program will be built up of skilled migrants.

However, the migrant's rate has fallen continuously over the latest five years. In the 2017/18 fiscal year, Australia given 162,417 permanent visas - the weakest amount in 05 years - as the conversation turned toward the potential of living migrants in regional areas alternatively to overcrowded cities such as Melbourne and Sydney.

For the 2019/20 season, the government of Australia has sought opinions of territory or state governments on the size and make-up of the migration intake of Australia.

The center of this year’s analysis paper is to explore views on the composition, rate, and distribution of immigrants to maximize the immigration advantages for all Australians.

Mr. Coleman told the Government is bound to maximizing the economic immigration outcomes, especially skilled migration, while also regarding the long-term population consequences on territory and state planning and infrastructure.

The Home Affairs Department will also discuss with agents from academia, industry and community associations, who will present expert opinion on how Australia can be benefited from immigration in the upcoming year.
