BC Announces Launch Of Express Entry Category To Bring In Skilled Employees

The government of B.C. (British Columbia) has promulgated the instant launch of a new stream, entitled as Express Entry British Columbia under the Express Entry system. This latest stream line ups with federal government’s Express Entry System, which came into effect on 1 January 2015.

The new skilled employee immigration stream enables certified employers to fetch required eligible and talented individuals in a faster pace. However, to be accessible for this new immigration stream individual must hold a full-time permanent job offer in BC

In order to apply for this Express Entry British Columbia, individuals should initially apply by means of CIC Express Entry system, where their complete assessment will be done to ascertain individual’s capability for any of the Canada skilled immigration programs. If individuals are capable, they need to create a profile that specifies their interest of settling in British Columbia.

Prospective applicants will have to abide minimum eligibility criteria for any of three immigration categories of British Columbia’s such as skilled employees (including Health Care Professionals), overseas graduates and overseas Post Graduates

The B.C.’s quota for provincial nominee has increased by CIC from 4,150 to 5,500. The Provincial Minister of Jobs Tourism and Skills Training and Minister Responsible for Labor, Shirley Bond, said that the Express Entry British Columbia will offer a more streamlined process as well as another pathway for   permanent residency for skilled employees from across the globe who would like to make BC as their abode.

Express Entry BC aims to have quicker processing times for skilled employees to acquire permanent residence in British Columbia and also gives employers a vital role in recruiting skilled immigrants. Under the Express Entry stream, the province would nominate a maximum of 1,350 skilled applicants this year.
