Austria is looking to attract more individual travelers looking for authentic travel experiences, according to the Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO), with the launch of its new marketing and social media campaign.
Aiming to build on the 335,000 overnight visitors from Australia last year, the new promotion, ‘Austria. Moments of Bliss’, will showcase the destination’s 250 activities, diversions, meals, landmarks and tucked away secrets through targeted print advertising, online marketing, a new brochure as well as increased social media efforts.
Additionally, available from early April, the campaign will be supported by a new iPad app, 'iAustria’, which will provide travelers with an interactive planning tool to Austria.
ANTO director in Austria Astrid Mulholland-Licht said the campaign sets itself apart from others through its “guidance to potential travelers” and hands-on experiences.
According to the tourist bureau, overnight visitors from Australia increased by 11 percent in 2012 compared to the prior year, while major Australian tour operators have reported double-digit growth on bookings to Austria for the first six months of 2013.
