Britain will shortly assess its immigration policy that has impeded thousands of Indian students moving ahead to renowned educational institutions of the world.
The deputy prime minister, Nick Clegg will drive the government to analyze its visa policy if he gets convinced that the reservations of the Indian students are authentic.
Clegg who will head the British trade delegation to Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi will visit Delhi University during his trip to India in the later part of this month and interact with the students to know directly the doubts that they have on new student visa policy of Britain.
The deputy prime minister said that he wanted to drive away the misconception that the government has terminated any provision to work after completing one’s graduation in the UK. The main intention of the government is that anyone is always welcome to work after graduation provided that he or she earns a certain minimum graduate salary .As a matter of fact, students earning more than the required salary can be eligible to work for three years following graduation.
The government intends to see more number of Indians to enter the UK to pursue studies in their great universities, the minister added.
It is anticipated that there will be 3.85 million outbound students for foreign education by 2024 and it is expected that India and China will account for 35% of global growth through this period.
Notably, India holds the second position with 3.76 lakhs of its travelers moving overseas to get enrolled in foreign universities.
