British Columbia's New Transparent Skilled Immigration System

The Western Province of Canada, British Columbia has announced the new skilled immigration system to attract the professionals in specialized areas. To meet the requirements of provincial economy, British Columbia introduced the new system integrating it into the local labor market. To drive the provincial economy, B.C. introduced the point based system SIRS (Skills Immigration and Registration System).

This system allows applicants with a valid job offer from the Canadian employer in the province. In the case of the job offer, only international students with Canadian education are exempted. The SIRS comprehensive system qualifies the candidates based on economic factors, language skills, and substantial experience. The candidates who score above 135 out of 200 are invited for the application.

For many employers in the province, the highly skilled professionals in different specialization are need of the hour. To balance the growing demand and drive the economy, British Columbia introduced new SIRS system.
