Business Groups Campaign For Australia 457 Visa Reforms

Australian business groups have started a campaign to change the policies related to Australia’s temporary skilled 457 Visa Program. Under this category Australian approved companies can recruit skilled international workers to work for four years in Australia.

Australia Chamber of Commerce industry has lined up to request the Australian Government to abolish the Labor market test entirely. This test was effective from 23 November 2013, and the purpose of this test is to check the companies attempt to recruit local talent and proving non-availability of skilled professionals in the Australia. 

Industry members term this test as complex, red tape and have written to the productivity commission. The business groups expressed concerns over the increase of salary threshold without considering the inflationary levels and regions where the cost of living is very low below the national average.

The false news is disseminating in the market rapidly that foreigners are taking the jobs of the Australians. Industry marked this view as sub standard in the present civilization.
