Canada immigration officials have declared the Atlantic Immigration Pilot will be extended by 02 more years, that is up to Dec 2021. Many modifications will also be given to AIP, to make it better fit for the requirements of applicants and employers.
Ahmed Hussen, Immigration Minister, made the statement on March 1 about the international graduate immigration and employer-driven skilled worker program.
The A.I.P is run in partnership with the Canadian government and the provinces of Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.
Starting May 1, 2019, I.R.C.C will demand that candidates meet the education, work experience, and language criteria of the A.I.P before being allowed for a work permit.
Since the start in Mar 2017, higher than 2,500 applicants have been approved for Canada PR through the pilot. Approximately 1,900 AIP nominated employers have made higher than 3,700 job offers to international graduates and skilled workers.
The creative A.I.P targets help companies target applicants who intend to build their careers in the Atlantic region through a process highlighting plans of settlement and provincial endorsements.
Three programs run below the Atlantic Immigration Pilot, which focus various types of candidates.
Certain applicants can appeal for a temporary work permit prior to sending their PR application. It enables them to begin work while their application for PR is processed.
Every job offer made by the Atlantic Immigration Pilot needs provincial endorsement. The employer handles the appeal for endorsement after the applicant has their Settlement Plan.
Applicants should not provide a PR application until they obtain a Certificate of Endorsement. It should be presented along with the application.
