Canada Express Entry - Applications Assessed And Processed In A New Way

The CIC (Citizenship and immigration Canada) has implemented, the new immigration system called Express entry on 1st January 2015.

The Express entry has helped in changing the way, few immigrants, apply for PR in Canada. The Express entry is used for application under the Federal skilled worker program, the Federal skilled Trades program and the Canadian Experience Class.

It is important to note that, the Canadian govt did not change the requirements of these 3 immigration programs, the rule to qualify under these programs does remain the same. The Express entry is new way where the application would be assessed and processed. The application submitted prior to January 2015 would be processed using the old system.

The intention of the new Express entry system is that more permanent residents would arrive in Canada with a job offer already in hand. Those individuals who do not have a job offer and having set of skills and work experience which is Canadian market is looking for, increase their changes find employment quickly once they arrive in this nation.

As per the new system, under the 3 programs,  the applicants do create an Express entry profile and they are put into a pool of candidates. There is no cap on the number of individuals allowed in the pool.  We find the candidates are then draw from the pool and they are invited to apply for the Permanent residence based on the provincial nomination, job offers and high human capital scores. So far, the applicants have been selected from the pool , both monthly and bi monthly basis.

The Express Entry Candidates do require to register with national Job bank. The employers are then able to have access the pool of candidates through the job bank. In later part of  2015, a system will be created where the individual’s application  in the Express Entry pool will be  matched with the jobs advertised on the Job bank that have been posted before one month or earlier.

If the individuals get invitation to apply, they have about 60 days time to submit an application for permanent residence.

An invitation to apply by no means does offer guarantee that the permanent residence would be granted. The candidates should still pass all the essential medical as well as security background checks.

To receive the human capital points for any foreign education, the individuals should have educational Credentials assessment done. This was not previously required for  individuals applying under the Canadian Experience Class.
