The government of Canada is making it simpler for foreign skilled workers to find full-time work in their training field sooner after they come to Canada. Current week Canadian Immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussen, declared a new program occurring to the Hamilton and Toronto regions that will support 960 globally trained newcomers to obtain their credentials approved in Canada.
The program coming to Toronto is the Program of Foreign Credential Recognition (F.C.R) Loan. The Loan Program offers it simpler for newcomers to pay for permitting exams, skills and training courses as well as their everyday maintenance costs while they are having their job credentials identified in Canada. All of these methods can be expensive and time-consuming without supporting financially.
Having the credentials of newcomer identified in Canada makes it comfortable to find full-time positions that meet their unique training and skill set. It is significant for the Government of Canada because it means higher skilled workers working in their expertise field and providing fully to the economy of Canada!
The FCR loan Program was launched in 2012 as a pilot project in the 10 cities over Canada. The government of Canada is funding over $1.577 million into this program over the following eight years in the support it will remain to assist globally trained workers quickly obtain meaningful work in their fields. Of those who will be getting counseling and loans from the program, and in that 50% will be women. Supporting women to take part in this program is part of the Federal Government’s attempts to assist immigrant women in engaging in the workforce in their training fields.
