Since its inception in December 2011, CIC has issued more than 15,000 Parent and Grandparent Super Visas that is approx. 1000 visas per month. This indicates that the visa has a approval rate of 86%, one of the highest among all the Canadian visas.

"The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa provides families with flexibility, and it is clearly growing in popularity," said Minister Kenney. "Our government is committed to family reunification. I am pleased to see that more and more parents and grandparents are getting the opportunity to spend longer periods of time with their loved ones in Canada."

2. Visa valid for up to 10 years
3. Maximum stay allowed for up to two years at a time

• Sponsor child is required with a minimum income level
• Sponsor must have Canadian medical insurance for the dependents
• Applicants need to undergo the immigration medical examination
