Canada Planning To Reopen Parents And Grandparents Program On Jan 28

Parents and Grandparents Program of Canada will reopen to enthusiastic sponsors starting on Jan 28, the Canadian government declared today. 

The latest program, recognized as the P.G.P, enables citizens of Canada and permanent residents above the age of 18 years to sponsor their grandparents and/or parents for Canadian PR.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada say up to 20,000 current P.G.P appeals will be processed in the year 2019.

Anyone wishing to sponsor their grandparents and/or parents by the P.G.P will have to initially finish an online form of Interest to Sponsor, which will be made accessible at noontime of Eastern Standard on Jan 28.

I.R.C.C will process forms of Interest to Sponsor in the sequence they are getting and invitations to appeal to the P.G.P will be announced until the PGP program’s cap of 20,000 full applications is reached.

This first-in, first-served path of allowing applications to substitute the questionable irregular lottery process that I.R.C.C began last year and later removed.

Several people had criticized the randomized strategy as it is not fair to those who had been remaining for years to sponsor their grandparents and/or parents.

Procedure to Apply for Interest to Sponsor

Finishing a form of Interest to Sponsor is not an appeal but instead notifies I.R.C.C of your request to be acknowledged as a possible sponsor.

I.R.C.C stated interested sponsors must initially review the eligibility conditions to assure they satisfy the requirements of the program, along with the threshold for least Necessary Income.

I.R.C.C will also demand possible sponsors to upload a status copy in Canada document when presenting their form of interest to sponsor. All people who present an online form will be informed whether they have been called or not.

Those Invited to appeal will have a time of 60 days to present a completed application, along with all required documents.
