Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will soon introduce reforms related to the spouse visas. The new changes will grant permanent residence to the wives of Canada citizens upon arrival in Canada. The Canada Immigration Minister John McCallum has announced that new reforms would likely be on the table in the next two months.
The Minister said that the laws that curtail from granting PR directly to the common-law partners and conjugal partners who are in a relationship for over two years would be removed. All the conditions of the spouses and common law partners’ permanent residency will be lifted to facilitate them by awarding permanent residence to them on arrival.
The present rule grants permanent residence to the spouses after their stay in Canada for over two years. The processing time for the partner visa is also lengthy; IRCC is considering reducing the long waiting periods of visa processing.
The pro-immigration policies of Canada make the country most favorite destination for immigration. The Canada Government has also introduced new citizenship laws making the conditions favorable to the responsible legal immigrants who have settled in the Canada.
