Canadian Government acknowledges the significance of immigration in bolstering economic growth, and in 2015 it is planning to invite between 260,000 and 285,000 new permanent residents to Canada, a rise of around 19,000 when compare to previous year.
In the 2015 levels plan the category of economic migrants accounts a major part i.e. around 65% of overall admissions. The left over 35% represents refugees, family group immigrants and others who admitted under the category of humanitarian programs
The higher immigration levels in 2015, is a mark of Canadian Government of encouraging economic development by addressing present and upcoming labor requirements by escalating accesses in main economic programs. In order to fuel the future economic growth of Canada, a steady flow of new immigrants is needed to meet the country’s labor market needs.
The augment in immigration levels would assist the Canada’s citizenship and immigration in implementing latest application management system i.e. Express Entry, in January 2015 and places the country’s immigration system to emphasis more on future economic immigration.
The earliest year of Express Entry would be a transition year for economic migration, whereas latest applications under Canadian experience class (CEC), federal skilled trades program (FSTP), federal skilled worker program (FSWP) and a bit of the provincial nominee program (PNP), which would be handled in new Express Entry system. In 2015, a majority of applicants would have been applied under the previous system. The rising entry levels generate the conditions for the success of new system by offering adequate space to lodge pre-Express Entry cases whilst providing flexibility to allow entry in higher volumes under the Express Entry system very soon.
