Canada - Ranked Fourth For Attracting International Talent

As per the research published by the World Bank, Canada occupied the fourth place in attracting highly skilled professionals to its mainland. The United States remains the top choice of 40 percent foreign skilled workers.

The research was released based on the immigration changes and trends in last 50 years by the authors Sari Pekkala Kerr, William Kerr, Ça?lar Özden and Christopher Parsons.

The US, UK, Canada and Australia – The top choice of skilled professionals

The research reveals that the US, the UK, Canada and Australia remained the top choice of world’s immigrants. In the last 50 years immigration rate did not change drastically. It is 3 percent of people live outside their countries of origin and it was the same 3 percent in 2016.

The people are moving voluntarily to distant lands in search of better opportunities, life style and education.

The research paper reads that, “A pattern is emerging in which these high-skilled migrants are departing from a broader range of countries and heading to a narrower range of countries, in particular, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.”

World’s 75 percent skilled immigrants have made these four countries as their home nations.
