Effective 6th February, 2014, any visitors to Canada will automatically be treated for a Canadian Multiple-Entry Visa. Qualified visitors can enter and exit Canada for a period of 6 months at a time under these multiple-entry visas. Also, with a validity period of up to 10 years, the visitors to Canada who hold the multiple-entry visas do not have to reapply for a visa every time.
To process a Multiple- or Single-Entry Visa, the fee for the TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) program will now be lowered to $100 from the previous fee of $150.
By harmonizing the multiple- and single-entry visa fees, applicants will have a simpler application process for Canadian Visas. It will also promote trade and tourism by boosting the number of eligible visitors who can visit Canada multiple times.
Effective 6th February, 2014, other fees in the temporary resident program is raised by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). These changes in the Canadian Visa fees will decrease the burden on the taxpayers of Canada, and make sure that the real cost of application processing is closely reflected in the new fee structure.
