Canada To Highlight Strong Ties With India At Vibrant Gujarat Conference

In a bid to further strengthen ties between India and Canada, the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Minister, Chris Alexander, is going to direct the Canadian delegation in the coming week at the Vibrant Gujarat Conference, a biannual summit hosted by Gujarat Government in India. In the delegation the Canadian Government emphasizes the strong ties between India and Canada.

On 11 January 2015, the delegation is going to arrive at Vibrant Gujarat. Also, the four-day tour will give the delegation an opportunity to exhibit Canada’s strengths in India, as well as promote Canada as a perfect investment destination and arrange a proposal for businesses to get benefit of investment and trade opportunities.

The minister will also have a chance to emphasize the enhancements of country’s economic immigration policies, which includes newly introduced Express Entry system and the Canada Start-up Visa program

After the Vibrant Gujarat Conference, the minister is going travel to Bengaluru to commemorate the inauguration of a new visa office.

In Bengaluru, the Canadian Consul General, issues visas in the IT sector and hereafter, people can travel to Canada directly from Bengaluru without going to Mumbai or New Delhi for visa.

On the other hand, Bengaluru is a hub for information technology, and most frequently a number of professionals from Bengaluru travel to Canada for various purposes. Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are the main cities where one could find most of the Bengalureans.

Previously, over 33,000 Indian nationals became permanent residents in Canada.

The minister for Canada's Citizenship and Immigration, Chris Alexander, said that, he is glad to take part in the 7th Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which enables the government to further reinforce ties between Canada and India by emphasizing on business opportunities, trading ideas and sharing experiences.
