On May 12th, 2014, Chris Alexander, Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister stated that in the month of April 2014, about 95% of the of the visas which were processed and issued by the Citizenship and Immigration Canada were Multiple-Entry Visas (MEVs). These Multiple-Entry Visas (MEVs) provide a quick and convenient choice which allows the eligible individuals to come into and exit Canada for 6 months at a single instance, for up to 10 years.
Just last month, that is in the month of April alone, Canada issued in excess of 95,000 MEVs to individuals coming to Canada whether for a vacation or to spend time with their family. The government of Canada is also intent on and making some other substantive changes including investing $42 million over a span of 2 years to upgrade the processes involved in improving the processing of temporary resident applications.
The minister also pointed out and referred to the achievements of the country’s Multiple Entry Visa program, even as he disclosed and declared a new visa program for Mexican travellers, named as CAN+ (‘Can-plus’). Under this new program, the applications of those Mexicans who have earlier travelled to either Canada or the US, in the last 10 years, will be processed at a faster pace, and they will also not have to provide as many supporting documents. Thus, CAN+ (‘Can-plus’) is one of the available programs that will make it easier for Mexican citizens to travel to and visit Canada.
Also, the country is a choice destination for visitors and business people alike and the most numerous of visitors to the country are from China, India and Mexico.
