Employment in Canada grew by approximately 56,000 jobs in Feb, offering to the growth of nearing 370,000 in the previous year, as per the recent Labour Force Survey.
Increases in full-time work were a significant contributor to the rise, as the rate of unemployment in Canada held constant at 5.8%. The 12-month growth of employment was produced up of 266,000 full-time, and 103,000 in part-time jobs.
Young people who aged between 15 to 24 saw the most significant improvements of the demographic groups, totaling 29,000 jobs in Feb. The month was an important contributor to a 12-month gain of 37,000 jobs in the age section.
For the working age group between 25 to 54 years, there was a slight change in Feb, with the demographic group totaling 221,000 jobs in the previous 12 months.
Similar results were observed for those whose age is 55 years and above, with a 111,000 rise in the past 12 months.

Ontario was the primary mover in Canadian provinces, attaching 37,000 jobs in the month of Feb for a rate of unemployment 5.7%. Canada’s biggest province has now attached 192,000 jobs in the previous year, a rise of 2.7%.
Quebec province also had a great month, with approximately 15,000 more people obtaining work. The French-speaking province where the rate of unemployment contracted to 5.3% with an increment of 55,000 jobs in the past 12 months.
British Columbia (3,600), Alberta (3,800), Nova Scotia (1,400) and New Brunswick (1,500) also observed jobs increases in Feb. B.C. continues the province with the weakest unemployment, at 4.5%.

Best Performing Industries in Canada for jobs in Feb was scientific, professional, and technical services, totaling 18,000 jobs principally in Ontario and Quebec. Jobs in the Industry are now up 97,000, or 6.8%, in the past 12 months.
Public administration also noticed a significant increase of 14,000 jobs, run by Alberta and Ontario. The area has seen an addition of 34,000 jobs in the past year.
