The Minister of Employment and Social Development, Jason Kenney, and Minister of State (Seniors), Alice Wong have announced more than $2.5 million for a plan to help the underemployed new Canadian immigrants to find the jobs in the areas that match their education level and expertise.
The proposed S.U.C.C.E.S.S plan will provide help for almost 300 skilled newcomers to choose the jobs that suit their experience and skills, at the same time providing employers with talented skilled workers.
Internationally trained workers, who require additional training, to attain licenses in their respective fields can go for some alternative careers that prove to be more effective.
The Canadian government is organizing foreign credential recognition in an effective way, by which the international trained workers can get their skills assessed under 14 priority occupations at any place in Canada. This will provide benefit to the workers applying for licenses, including pharmacists, dentists and engineers
Till date, more than 1,000 have gained from microloans. The S.U.C.C.E.S.S program has helped nearly 500 skilled new immigrants through microloans at a maximum of $15,000.
