Canadian Government Welcomes Most Number Of New Individuals In 2014

Chris Alexander, the Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister has declared that the Canadian government has welcomed 75,900 new individuals into the country in 2014, so far.

Chris stated that taking into consideration the statistics of the last four years, the most number of new individuals were welcomed into Canada, this year.

By making necessary changes to the citizenship program and with the launch of the Blueprint for Citizenship Improvement, the Canadian government is planning to process the received citizenship applications quickly, so that worthy individuals will be able to become Canadian citizens quickly.

He said that with the recent increase in the number of individuals entering into the country, this year proved that the changes made in the programs are showing effective results.

There are certain reasons behind the increase in the number of applicants who would like to get the Canadian citizenship.

The major reason is the launch of the blueprint program by the Canadian government for the citizenship improvement. This was launched under the Strengthening Canadian Citizenship Act, known as Bill C-24. The Act has brought about a major difference in the number of applications received and how these are (or, will be) processed under the new Citizenship Act.

The primary goal of this Act is to protect the values of Canadian citizenship and also to prevent fraud.

The government is also planning to reduce the decision making process from three steps to one. It is also planning to diminish the current backlog of the Canadian Citizenship applications and restructure the application fees to avoid the burden on taxpayers.

The Canadian immigration department will work in advance to make necessary improvements.
