Car Makers Warn Against The Introduction Of UK Immigration Cap

Car makers Honda, Toyota and Nissan who employ more than 10,000 people warn on the consequences of a permanent cap on UK visas.  This was issued to the UK immigration minister Damian Green.

They claim that access to highly skilled foreign workers is limited which will become tough for them to develop new models to run in the UK. In turn, limiting production in the UK would place British jobs under threat.

Prime Minister David Cameron hinted that the new cap might be more relaxed than the interim cap currently in force and the specifications are yet to be divulged.

“As we control our borders and bring immigration to a manageable level, we will not impede you from attracting the best talent from around the world,” he said.
