Celebration Of Friendship - India And Canada

On 8th August, the High Commission of Canada celebrated the Canada-India Friendship Day at New Delhi. The event was themed as ‘Celebrating the Girl Child’ with a lot of events like face-painting, kite-flying and a competition of ‘best dressed’ people adorning the colors of both India and Canada.

Special guests to the event were the underprivileged girls who are receiving assistance from NGOs like Aarohan, Butterflies and Ritanjali. Stewart Beck, High Commissioner for Canada to India said that, just as India celebrates democracy, freedom, rule of law and equality on 15th August for Independence Day, on the occasion of Canada-India Friendship Day, we celebrate the same values cherished by both countries.
